Apple has opened its own fruit dehydrators in India and has started making bear fruit gum in India, the company announced today.
The fruit, which has been in the apple industry for more than 100 years, has been marketed as a healthy alternative to sugar, with flavours such as blueberry and banana, according to Apple.
Apple said it will offer “a range of fruit-flavoured gum, including bear fruit, blackberry, apple and blueberry gum, in various shapes and sizes.”
The company has been selling the fruit products to Indian customers since January, according the company’s website.
It said it had sold 1.8 million fruit products in India in the month.
The company said that it had been working with local fruit and nut growers to develop a bear fruit-based product.
